Interior design back up for the VDH
The Association of Qualified Hoteliers, Restaurateurs and Hotel Managers (VDH) organised a special symposium to familiarise its members with the latest interior decoration trends – and reported enthusiastically: “Along came the master of beautiful fabrics, Michele Rondelli of Jakob Schlaepfer, who quickly sparked the enthusiasm of his listeners. Everyone wanted a little bit of Schlaepfer for his hotel”.

Swatch Haute Couture Collection
Swatch is releasing two new watches for Christmas 2010, named “Our Present For Him” and „For Her“ – with textile bracelets by Jakob Schlaepfer, where interlacing red threads form an irregular network against a black background; finely meshed in the “Irony Medium” for ladies and a coarser weave for the men’s model “Irony Big”. The Swatch Haute Couture Collection is being released in a strictly limited numbered edition of 777 sets.

Jakob Schlaepfer in the «Neue Werkstätten»
The “Neue Werkstätten” in the heart of Munich is showcasing the Italian upholstered furniture maker Minotti in its “Senza Tempo” exhibition, while its new fabric department features Jakob Schlaepfer’s Décor collection. “Now almost everyone wants textiles, ornaments and fine materials again,” says business manager Marina Woschni. Parking garage penthouse in Miami Beach
The Lincoln Road parking garage designed by Swiss architects Herzog and de Meuron (see article in the “New Yorker” and video) is crowned by the penthouse of owner Robert Wennett; and (as of autumn) Jakob Schlaepfer textiles will be a major feature in it. We’ll keep you posted.
