“St Gallen Lace” exhibition
The St Gallen Textile Museum is devoting a special exhibition to five hundred years of embroidery, curated by a two-man team from Jakob Schlaepfer, its creative director Martin Leuthold and Bernhard Duss of Bambola. It has already featured in a report on the Swiss television news programme Tagesschau. Watch video in german (1'54")
This is the first time the museum has displayed its collection in all its richness, proving that St Gallen lace was always in a class of its own – and still is. The lounge of the StGall exhibition is furnished with printed wall coverings and carpets made specially by Jakob Schlaepfer. Visitors can sit on an imaginative range of multi-layered lace.
The “StGall” exhibition runs from 26 March to 30 December 2011.
